Crossing Over was first exhibited in Lee Wilkes’ solo exhibition Retracing Steps at Jan Manton Gallery in November 2020. Following this it was selected as a finalist in the Milburn Art Prize for Landscape in 2021 at the Brisbane Institute of Art.

This artwork is the origin of Grant x Wilkes’ collaborative practice, although they didn’t officially define themselves as an artist duo until two years later.
